THINKING

The Equality Act: Part 1

Ryan Anderson and Mary Hasson discuss the recently-proposed Equality Act in a three-part series on ReligionUnplugged.

Ryan Anderson, president of the conservative think tank Ethics & Public Policy Center (EPPC) and author of "When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment”, interviews Mary Hasson, a Catholic fellow at EPPC who testified for the Republican side at a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the Equality Act. Hasson discusses the impacts and legal questions the Equality Act raises for religious organizations that hold traditional views on gender and sexuality, including stripping bipartisan religious freedom protections introduced in the 90s.
